Shipping and Delivery

What countries do you ship to?

For the time being I have decided to restrict standard shipping to customers in the UK and USA only.

Following Brexit, there is a new requirement for UK businesses to appoint a GDPR representative in the EU. I do not currently have this in place so for the time being I have decided to suspend sales to customers in the EU to ensure I remain compliant.

I will keep this under review and start to add back international destinations, as and when I can confirm and update my policies and data protection arrangements.

If you live elsewhere in the world and are interested in buying my jewellery, please contact me at jewellery@alisonperry.com. I would be happy to review the tax, shipping and import rules and regulations for your location and if I can legally meet the requirements, I would be happy to set up custom shipping arrangements for you.

 

How long will it take for my jewellery to ship?

I aim to send all parcels out within 2 working days of payment. If you need something more quickly, send me an email and I’ll do my best to help. At the moment times may be a little extended due to the coronavirus pandemic, but if there any significant delay I will let you know.

You will receive a confirmation when you place an order and a shipping notification and tracking information when your order has shipped.

All pieces will be wrapped in tissue paper and placed in a box or an organza bag. I also bubble-wrap for extra protection when shipping.

 

How much is postage?

UK Customers:

Orders up to £49 `are sent Royal Mail Signed For® 1st Class: £3.00.

Orders over £50 will be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm® and will be delivered next working day: £7.00.

Free shipping for all UK orders over £80.

US Customers:

All orders will be sent via the Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed service.

Orders up to a value of £49: £14.00 Orders £50 or above: £18.00       

Free shipping for all orders over £150.00

Please note: for any customers outside of the UK, it is likely there will be additional customs, tax and processing charges applied by the authorities in your country. These charges are the buyer's responsiblity. 

 

How long will it take for my parcel to arrive?

Royal Mail aims to deliver UK First Class post in 1-2 days and Special Delivery the next working day before 1pm.

Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed service is advertised to take 5-7 days to arrive. Postal services worldwide are experiencing delays at this time due to pressures of the Coronavirus pandemic and may take longer.

I will send you a tracking number for all parcels and you can track progress here on www.royalmail.com

Do you accept returns? 

Yes! If you change your mind for any reason, you may return your purchase for a full refund or shop credit. You have 14 days from receiving your parcel to tell me that you want to send something back. Please email me at jewellery@alisonperry.com to let me know you want to make a return. You have a further 14 days from the date you've notified me to return the item.

I don't accept returns on custom-made or specially commissioned pieces, but will happily make adjustments to these items if something is not right.

 

Do you pay for return postage?

If you return an item, I will refund any original postage costs you paid, but you will need to pay for return postage costs (unless the item you bought is faulty, in which case I will cover the cost of return postage too.

You must obtain proof of postage and I suggest you use a tracked service for anything you return. If you opt for a refund rather than an exchange, I will refund your payment via the same method you paid, within 14 days of receiving the returned item, or within 14 days of receiving evidence the item has been sent back (i.e. proofof postage).

 

What happens if my parcel gets lost in the post?

I use Royal Mail tracked and signed for services for most items when I send them out and so if a parcel gets lost on its way to you it should be tracable. If your parcel cannot be found and does not arrive, I will refund your payment. Posting times will depend on where you are and the postage service used, but in all cases, parcels should have arrived within 30 days of shipping. If you have not received your parcel by this time please email jewellery@alisonperry.com, and I will arrange a refund.

 

What happens if my jewellery is damaged in the post?

I make every effort to package items securely, but if your item is damaged in the post, you can return it and I can either repair it and resend to you, exchange it for something of equal value, or you can return the item for a full refund.

Please take a photo of your damaged parcel and email me at jewellery@alisonperry.com to arrange the return and/or repair.

 

What do I do if my jewellery needs to be repaired?

I want you to stay in love with your jewellery and am happy to repair any damage due to our defects for the lifetime of the product. To request a repair please email jewellery@alisonperry.com

 

How do I take care of my jewellery?

The metal I use in all of my jewellery is sterling or fine silver. It may tarnish over time, but it can be cleaned with a polishing cloth. I don’t recommend using a commercial liquid jewellery cleaner, especially on pieces with gemstones or pearls, which could be damaged by the liquid.  When you are not wearing your pieces, I recommend you keep them in a jewellery box with anti-tarnish tabs or wrapped in acid-free tissue.

 

Do you take commissions?

I’m happy to discuss commission requests for pieces that are of a similar style to my existing work. I ask for a 50% deposit for custom work, with the balance to be paid before your order is shipped. Please contact me at jewellery@alisonperry.com to discuss your ideas.

 

How Secure is your store?

I offer products for sale on this site using Shopify. PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available).  There’s more detail on how I use and process your information in my Privacy Policy.

 

Can I leave a comment on this site?

This site allows users to comment and leave reviews and I welcome feedback from visitors and customers. However, I reserve the right to remove any comments which are offensive.

 

Can I share links and pictures from your site on social media?

This site contains intellectual property owned by Alison Perry and All About the Beads, including trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property. However, I want you to share my content. Posting links and pictures on your social media is fine, but please do link back to my site if you do that.
