Getting my 2019 show on the road
It's almost the end of May already but as far as All About the Beads is concerned I'm just getting 2019 started. Next Saturday will only be my second outing of the year so far and I'll be back at Moseley Arts Market. And from then on my summer gets a bit busier. I'm back for Warwickshire Open Studios again this year, sharing space again my friend and maker of naughty monsters, Emma O'Brien over in Coventry. We'll be open over 3 weekends from 15th to 30th June. I'm also going to be at the Lichfield Festival Market on 6th July and Leamington Art in the Park on 3rd & 4th August. More info on these and other events here.
Although I haven't been out much I've still been busy making beads and turning them into jewellery. One of my favourite procrastinations is browsing pictures on Pinterest where I have a board of pictures and colour palettes that inspire me. I decided to make a series of bracelets using some of my favourite palettes as a starting point.
This one is a palette from the Design Seeds website: Fresh Hues from a photo by @Colormiminzi.
And here's the result: Pink Grapefruit Bracelet with 6 different designs of beads (I made lots of different options but these were the 6 that made the grade), finished with a sterling silver toggle clasp.
It's just back from hallmarking at the Birmingham Assay Office so I'll have this one, along with some others in the collection, with me next Saturday and it will soon be in the Shop too.
